because I'm just shy of 21, and had a heavily modded TT a couple years back. Then I remembered how much more respectful I was of the Z, and how much more aware of the technical aspects of its various functions because I had put so much of my own time into it and stepped up from a stock TT over time. Jumping right into a heavily modded TT from nothing remotely comparable may not turn out well. It's just a little different when a cautious nature is tempered by a deep, slowly acquired respect for the car. Of course it depends hugely from person to person...in any case, it sounds like he's stretching his budget way too much. Living on the financial edge for a car just isn't worth it, I've discovered that a couple times over the past few years. Wouldn't say you'd at all be in the wrong in denying his offer.
